Responsible for creating the design, development and testing of complex and efficient programming and analytic code, as well as technical support and subject matter expertise related to specified health care programming & analytic activities, projects and deliverables. Specific duties include: •· Design, development and unit-testing of SAS and/or Oracle PL/SQL program code, functions and scripts to efficiently extract, merge and manipulate large volumes of healthcare data •· Research, analyze and calculate quality indicator measures related to clinical topics and conditions across all healthcare settings •· Perform client needs analysis and assessment; collaborate with clients and business analysts to identify and clarify program, business and functional requirements •· Perform integrity analysis to identify data quality and integrity issues, as well as random sampling; benchmarking and trading of data •· Design reporting templates and create report mock-ups and final reports illustrating the results of analytic and programming processes Required Skills •· Minimum 1 to 4 yrs related experience in analytic programming, data extraction, querying databases/data warehouses and data analysis •· Experience in using PL/SQL, SAS or equivalent software tools •· Experience with Medicaid and Medicare claims preferred •· Programming experience with analysis in the healthcare industry preferred •· Gathers and/or clarifying business and technical requirements with data requestors •· Provides technical and analytic input to analytic team •· Experience analyzing large datasets preferred Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in statistics, mathematics, computer science or related discipline and/or equivalent training; 1 to 6 years related experience in analytic programming, data extraction, querying databases/data warehouses and data analysis using SAS, PL/SQL or an equivalent software product and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. |
