POSITION SUMMARY: Maintain production and quality of diesel engines. Ensure proper operation of fleet and rental trucks. |
Duties: |
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Ensure proper operation of diesel engines
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Ensure all repairs are documented and ensure compliance with all DOT regulations
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Control downtime by informing users of routine preventative maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance. Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment
- Maintain equipment, parts and supplies inventories.
- Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintain continuity among management and staff by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs.
- Must work safely at all times and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of Lancaster property.
- Participate in End of Month Inventory.
- Comply with Lancaster Foods LLC policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: |
QUALIFICATIONS: - HS Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have ASE Certification. Strongly desire A level Mechanics to have a CDL A or B license.
- Preferred experience working on Cummings, Detroit Diesel and International engines.
- Must be at least 18 years of age to work in warehouse.
- A minimum of eight years experience working with over 100 trucks. Fiberglass or bodywork experience preferred.
- Must demonstrate proficient PC skills.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Must have own transportation.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, holidays and weekends.
Must be able to, with reasonable accommodations, lift and carry up to 75 pounds, work in temperatures, which range from 28-90 degrees, work in a wet, damp and dusty environment, and ability to read/understand warehouse documents. Personal Protective Equipment Required: Safety Shoes [Lancaster Foods will reimburse up to $50 with a receipt], safety goggles, gloves and your ID badge/timecard. All Mechanics are required to provide their own tools and lockable tool chest. |
