Description: | For over 25 years, Penn-Mar Organization, Inc. has provided support services in our communities, which promote value, independence and self-determination, to families and individuals with disabilities or human service needs. We are currently seeking a Financial Accountant who will have primary responsibility for compiling financial information, processing of journal entries into various accounts and reconciling reports and financial data. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned from time to time. Compile financial information into monthly financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Initiate and process journal entries into various general ledger accounts. Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve any differences. Provide information to staff and individuals outside of the organization such as providing quarterly financial statements to banks and governmental agencies when required. Use of various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases and/or format data or reports. Develop, maintain, and analyze organizational budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs. Develop and analyze annual Pennsylvania governmental budgets. Preparation of monthly bank account reconciliations. Prepare annual reconciliation of Pennsylvania contract expenditures with contractual reimbursements. Analysis and computation of monthy revenue recognition. Work directly with our external auditors in completion of audit work papers and schedules. Assemble data used for completion of IRS form 990. Analyze and reconcile Maryland program revenues with attendance records and quarterly advance payments. - Maintain depreciation records using FAS software.
Associate's degree in Accounting or two years of related experience. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred. Successful completion of physical, drug screen, Mantoux test for tuberculous. Must pass background and reference checks. |
