Description:

Responsible for consistent and prudent underwriting of consumer loan applications based on loan policy and credit analysis.

Duties:

Review applications for unsecured loans, personal loans with co-makers, vehicle loans, RV/Boat loans, share secured, home equity and VISA to ensure completeness and accuracy.

Review credit reports and verify accuracy of debt to income ratios and member’s Fast Start credit score.

Advise member when necessary as to what particular loan program may best suit his/her needs and if additional security collateral is required.

Verify employment when necessary.

Advise member of interest rate and loan payment.

Approve or deny loan applications.

Analyze existing lines of credit to determine member’s continuance of eligibility for the line.

Explain reasons for denial and explore options for members when loans are denied.

Process adverse action notice for loans denied.

Complete loan documents, necessary forms and input information into data processing system for disbursement of funds.

Answer member’s questions relating to loans both in person and by phone.

Cross sell other credit union products, including ancillary lending add-ons, and deposit products.

Implement new loan products and services in accordance with management direction.

Perform a variety of support duties related to the lending function.

All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree (BS) from a four year college or university and minimum two years related lending experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be detailed oriented.

Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills.

Must be able to manage multiple priorities.
Demonstrated personal computer skills.

Must be a team player with the ability to establish effective working relationships with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Must be able to work overtime and be flexible to work on Saturdays at various branch offices.
