Position Overview:
The Regional Account Manager for North America reporting to the Vice President & General Manager, the America, has the primary responsibility of achieving revenue objectives primarily by working with Channel Partners. This is accomplished through the development and expansion of existing Service Provider distribution channels, and their dealer networks throughout North America.  In addition, the incumbent will define the processes to leverage Iridium's existing business operations resources to support service provider's sales activities. 

Position Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of driving increased sales through targeted growth initiatives in current market segments, increasing geographical distribution coverage, implementing creative strategic marketing initiatives and the strategically selecting additional channel partners to enable expansion into non-traditional markets for satellite communications services. The Regional Account Manager will work closely with the channel partners to create, implement and monitor marketing plans and ensure that their business operations support requirements are satisfied.  In addition, the Regional Account Manager is responsible for the integration of new distributors into Iridium business systems, including training, and on-going account management across operational and sales functions.  In addition to a proven track record of success, this individual should have a broad understanding of business practices and processes in marketing, sales, customer service, engineering & technical support, and business operations.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Deliver revenue objectives for assigned channel partners.
  • Identify market segment and geographical distribution gaps. Develop programs and/or identify new partners to fill identified gaps, including development of non-traditional partners to reach new markets.
  • Deliver sales training to channel partners and dealer networks.
  • Develop and lead sales improvement plans and sales promotion programs.
  • Provide information on regional market issues and competition.
  • Negotiate channel partner agreements with selected candidates and initiate appropriate contract modifications to support unique marketing programs, price changes, etc.
  • Serve as primary interface between partner and Iridium departments to resolve sales, financial and operational issues.
  • Requires leadership participation in analytical analysis and due diligence of new and existing distribution partners.
  • Integrate distribution partner into Iridium's business model by gathering all required documentation, establishing customer in Iridium billing, financial, and customer care systems, communicating customer requirements and contract details to other Iridium departments. Position is responsible for ensure all internal actions have been completed to ready partner for selling Iridium products and services.
  • Communicate company marketing programs, price changes, and new products & services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships through day to day management of partners acting as an advocate for both Iridium and the partner while balancing the needs of customers with the needs of the business.
  • Represent Iridium at conferences, exhibitions and other relevant events.

Other candidate requirements:

  • Undergraduate college degree in a relevant discipline
  • Ability to exercise sound and objective judgment in evaluating sales opportunities
  • Excellent communications skills, written & verbal
  • Fluency in Spanish desirable but not mandatory
  • Ability to travel extensively, work independently and efficiently
  • Self-starter & ability to work remotely in a fast moving and busy environment.
  • Demonstrate credibility at senior management, director and executive level
  • Preferably demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the mobile satellite market
  • A track record of revenue focused achievements
