Position Overview: The Contracts Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing commercial contractual relationships for Iridium's Service Providers (SPs), Value Added Manufacturers (VAMs), Value Added Resellers (VARs), Special Customer Agreements and related commercial sales realtionships, to assure that Iridium's commercial contracting activities are handled in a professional, timely, and cost effective manner. The position will provide expertise for an array of contract types, including commercial sales and reseller agreements, product distribution agreements, and intellectual property agreements. Additional Responsibilities Include: - Managing a portfolio of strategic commercial customer contracts and relationships
- Coordinating between the sales team and company resource experts regarding the interpretation of commercial, legal, export, and licensing contracting requirements.
- Analyzing, modeling and participating in the negotiation of financial arrangements and business/operational terms and conditions to meet customer technical, quality, schedule, legal and cost objectives.
- Performing the formation, drafting and definitization of commercial sales contracts and changes thereto to assure that negotiated requirements are accurately documented and fully reviewed within ISLLC.
- Identifying and managing all issues relating to contract performance that may potentially impact schedule, quality, performance and /or overall customer satisfaction.
Required knowledge, skills & abilities: Position requires strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as accomplished organizational, analytical and planning skills. Bachelor's degree in a Business-related field or equivalent required; MBA or equivalent preferred. In addition, a minimum of 7 years experience in commercial contract management is required. The following specific skills are desirable: - Proven track record in leading multi-disciplinary tasks encompassing project conceptualization, technical requirements, schedules, budgets, and contractual implications.
- Able to work effectively with line management, senior management, and customer representatives.
- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to translate business agreements into contract language and to interpret contract language to understand technical, schedule, and financial commitments.
- Working knowledge of legal issues, business development, and financial management.
- International business experience desirable.
- Knowledge of wireless and satellite mobile industries or previous Iridium project experience is desirable.
