Senior Systems Engineer

Description:

Position Overview:

The role of the Senior Systems Engineer is to support the development of new products and services by developing thorough requirements and specification development, ensuring the design is performed consistent with those requirements and managing the verification process.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  1. Work with marketing and sales to identify and develop new ideas of value-added products/services for the Iridium communication system.
  2. Analyze, assess, and mitigate programmatic and technical issues and risks.
  3. Work with cross-functional development team to ensure project milestone alignment and quality product delivery.
  4. Provide leadership to and work with technical leads of various groups of the development team.
  5. Develop and review project related materials: requirement specification, design specification, board design, schematic design, board layout, integration test plan and procedure, etc.
  6. Host project reviews and technical inter-exchange meetings to ensure sufficient information exchange takes place across the breadth of development team.
  7. Interface with Operation and Service to ensure efficient products and services roll-out.
  8. Support technical inquires from VAM/VAR/VAD and business development with Sales/Marketing.
  9. Provide technical support to regulatory engineering and license application.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 7+ years experience in wireless communication product development (mobile satellite communications experience a plus)
  2. Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Engineering
  3. Strong engineering experience on a multi-disciplinary wireless modem development project
  4. Proactive communicator
  5. Able to work independently
  6. Strong written and verbal skills
  7. Ability to travel
